The Trancas
geodes or break your own (how it’s called in the states)
has been our best selling product at The Strong Rock for
10 years. We sell over 20 tons of these geodes each year
thanks to your interest in this product. The mine for
the Trancas geodes produce’s about 30 tons a year of
this material. Currently the geodes dug up from the mine
come out 90% hollow. These geodes are found under ground
about six feet under the surface.
The miners start
looking for the geodes by using a caterpillar. As soon
as they find a trace of geodes they stop using the
caterpillar since if they continue to dig with it the
geodes will break. They start to dig holes around the
site where the geodes are located. They usually take out
about a ton every 2 weeks. These geodes have already
been selling for 22 years and we hope for it to continue
coming out for many years to come. The mine for the
Trancas is located 225 miles south of El Paso Texas. An
interesting fact about these geodes is about 90-95
percent of the geodes are fluorescent. So whenever your
